There are five tire classes according to the HTSUS, (Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US) with important and specific regulations and markings belonging to each. This is further divided based on treads, usage, size, load, etc., in a complicated system with which Coppersmith is very familiar. We understand the tariff and coding rules for importing and exporting tires and offer our years of service and knowledge to each and every tire shipment you can think of.

The physical characteristics of a tire which are most relevant to its classification are the tire size and weight, load capacity, speed rating and tread pattern. Much of the information regarding the physical characteristics of a given tire is provided in the sidewall markings.
