As a proud member of two World Cargo Alliance networks, Coppersmith representatives are in Miami learning about the latest news affecting our global agent partners and are busy meeting with them over the course of two meetings. Held semi-annually in Miami, the WCA hosts an Americas Regional Conference for members in the Americas hemisphere. This year, the group is also holding the inaugural meeting of their newest group, the WCA e-Commerce group.
This group is comprised of logistics companies of several tiers who meet the requirements of being capable of handling e-Commerce shipments on behalf of their fellow members or major e-Commerce shipping platforms. The program for the e-Commerce platform includes a number of robust break-out sessions covering:
- EU/VAT changes in cross-border trade.
- European e-Commerce Customs regulations.
- e-Commerce risks and liabilities.
Dion Cheong, our CIO, Don Simon, our Logistics Manager, and Bobby Shaida, our Executive Director of Corporate Sales, will bring back a wealth of knowledge and information to share with our Coppersmith family and our clients. Stay tuned for a follow-up column on their trip.
